Wubbles Pulls A Joan Rivers

While I loved my old format, I'd notice any fics I post gets squished within my lovely Bloggish template. (wubbles pull the 'woe' face) Personally, I like how some writers' posts in a totally new, no frills page. Can't figure out how's its done so until I do, I'd switch to a different template that spreads the fic out more. Hopefully, it'll be easier to read. (now, to get readers, lol) The sad part of this was it took me three hours as I went through every imaginable template this LJ has to offer. Everyone needs a shiny new toy to play with. Mine's online. Hee.

Date: 2008-03-08 07:35 pm (UTC)As for the no frills page, I think it's a function of the clicky and not the way the story is loaded. I've noticed that it does it sometimes, but not everytime when you post long fics. *shrugs* Thus are the mysteries of LJ.

I adore your icon and the cute photo idea!

As for the icon, I can take no credit for it. I've snurched it from somewhere. But yes, Daniel is so pretty ;-)
I do love yours. I've not seen a lot of icons with John Wincherster!

SG-1 was my first fandom, so moving on from there was like leaving behind my very best friend. I'm still in SG-1 fandom, and I've found some new friends in the new fandom, but I've never felt quite as comfortable there as I do with SG-1. It's lovely to see you!!!!

Date: 2008-03-09 04:31 pm (UTC)You're right. I think nothing can really capture the magic and excitement as SG1. If I was to channel Carter or McKenzie (eek! Stargates in my closet), that show came in the height of the internet and I think there was a common thread of first explorations for all of us. I know it was for me: it was the first time I'd used the internet, pc, and discovering fanzines. Plus, I met amazing people I never would have if it weren't for SG1. And for that, Stargate will *always* hold a special place in my heart.

SG-1 prompted me to find online fandom. I was so amazed that there was such a huge community of people out there who felt just like me. It was so scary and thrilling to discover new friends like that. I wrote my first fan fic for SG-1. It was the most scary thing I'd ever done to post my first story online!
Yeah, no matter how far I wander, I always have SG-1 in my heart ;-)
