Well, it's hard to believe but it's almost mid-February and like the primaries/elections, Mediawest is edging around the corner. Am I ready?

Seriously, folks, where did the time go? And in case you were wondering, I happened upon the MW28 site and saw a couple of deadlines I think needs spreading around. I came upon this by pure accident.

PR1 : not yet, so no panic

Hotel: not yet either, but I'll panic about this one because I was going to be a dealer here!

FanQ: not yet although seriously? Participation was abysmal and, from writers I got to speak to, a good reason why many fics never see a printer's shop any more. Sad enough some feel neglected because of lack of feedback, but FanQ (which could have come across for them as feedback even as a nomination) has widdle down to barely a few dozen. I remember when I first attended FanQ (7 years ago only), it was standing room only. Now? :(

Can fanzines be registered as an endangered species? LOL

Panels: Topic suggestions Jan 1-Feb 29 - now's the chance if there are panels you want on the program. Signing up starts March 1.

Party Room: Feb 15 to April 15

I'll post more when I find out because we are getting close and not a single PR yet.

As for Brotherhood, looks like both issues will top 300+ pages, whoo hoo!

Hey, that's great! I think we better all wear nametags with our online names or we'll never recognize each other! LOL

As for Brotherhood, well issue 4 is all SPN, issue 5 has 3, with a very meaty one to start. :)

Can fanzines be registered as an endangered species? LOL

They very well could be! A lot of zine publishers do the online/downloadable thing nowadays. Frankly, I don't consider those zines. 90% of the reason I like a good zine is the "curl up with a book," tactility of the experience. If I wanted to read fanfic on my computer screen, I certainly wouldn't pay for it. ;)

But that's just me.

PS, I'm sure you'll be ready for MW by the time it arrives!

Not surprising the PR#1 isn't out yet. Doesn't it usually arrive either the day before or the day after an important deadline? I am a little more surprised about the Holiday Inn part, but I think I heard that HIS had not yet gotten the paper work as of early January, so that is waaaay behind.

Since the writer's strike it's hard to remember if there were any new shows this year that I'd like to see a panel about.
