Many things beyond a bear's control happen, hence my absence on LJ. But before I go "wah wah" on my LJ, I thought perhaps I spend my time typing up a more worthy cause. All fanzine lovers and MediaWest Com goers take note, pleas

FanQs is a lovely thought from a lovely person to do something...well, lovely for a fanzine writer. Now (puts a paw up halting the usual fanfic vs fanzine debate) I remember not too long ago, checking out the FanQs' awards hour was like the Oscars: get there early and you might have room to stand.

Last year, there was enough room to have all of us put our feet up.

Fanzines have been dwindling and honestly? It's not a coincidence. If you think of FanQ as feedback, we all have inadvertantly starved writers out there from feedback on their writing efforts.

It would be great if we see a revival of support for our fanzines. I know we can't all individually write LoCs to zine writers (sadly, I tried, but only got halfway through done) but i think the acknowledgement of a nomination or a win would be appreciated by the writers. I know I appreciated each and every vote towards Brotherhood and Foundations.

Okay, I'm getting off my soapbox with a final plea. We need ballots. Do to circumstances unknown to us, the 1st PR that would have included the FanQ ballot was not sent out. But, our FanQ leader Jan wants to get the ball rolling in the ballots' side. I'd attached below all the info, definitely spread the word. Deadline is close and while I went to individual people, I'm hoping Wubbles and I can drum up more interest.

Plus, I have my program book. If you need to know what zines debuted and qualify for FanQ in any fandom, comment here and I'll post up the list ASAP. It's too big to do now unfortunately.
