Total Squee: Vocal Gold Found

Back in February, I had caught bits of what looked like a British awards show and this one singer was awesome but no name, no song title, argh! I pretty much figured I was doomed to never finding out.

Serendipity rolls by and some fellow eLJayers caught wind of another eLJayer with a link to awesome!singer with yet one more awesome song.

Score!

Songwriter/Singer/Freaking Vocal FTW: Adele

The song that wooed me:

New song [livejournal.com profile] re_white found and both LG & BW passed on to me. I will make you three cookies if they didn't suck!

I forget that our charts are so different - Adele is HUGE over here right now. I don't follow the radio at all and even I've heard her stuff. :)

Oh, I feel silly. I am always so slow about these things! LOL

It's probably not you. I've always been shocked at the differences between the US and UK charts. We have a band over here called JLS (no need to look them up, seriously.) Here they'll sell out concerts of 50,000 people. In the US no-one knows who they are. And I have no clue about the US artists. It's random. :)

Those are my two most favorite songs by her. She's amazing.

Adele is pretty big here, too, now. I mostly know her because of the kids. "Rolling in the Deep" is Em's favorite song.

Radio edit version is even better, she goes up high on the chorus and it sounds fab :)

She's a fantastic singer and very down to earth too. As James Corden says in that clip, she doesn't need the flashy gimmicks, the dancers, the pyrotechnics, just a piano. Totally awesome.
