Thank You, Steve (RIP 1955-2011)

Love him or hate him, you can not deny he had made a mark on our generation.

From the first gaunt-like appearance in a keynote address to his announcement of cancer, Steve Jobs' failing health loomed over Apple's future for the past few years. Nevertheless, news of his death this evening still came as a shock.

I know there's a division of PC vs Mac, iTunes vs everything else. Steve Jobs was known as a technological perfectionist. He was ousted from his own company years ago, only to return to boost Apple to its present standing as a Microsoft competitor of equal standing.

It's incredible when you think back to what he gave us during his reign in Apple: iPod, iTunes, iTouch, iPhone, iPad. Each one rose to almost cult status, accomplishing what most companies strive for: a cultural brand.

I was checking out the new sites when news of his death broke. It sadden and disgusts me how some replying jeering Apple and make jokes. Of course, I should have expected this from forums and Twitter. Still, I was hoping humane consideration would prevail.

No matter how one may feel about Apple, let's not forget Steve Jobs' contributions.

Thank you, Steve. You will be missed.
